National Heart Foundation opened a new horizon for the treatment of heart patients in Sylhet. The authority concerned said in future open heart surgery will be held here. National Heart Foundation Sylhet is run by specialist surgeons & beds for emergency- 10 for ICU and 12 beds for post ICU operation. There are 8 cabins and 12 normal beds.
Dr Khaled Mohsin supervises the patients. He joined at the hospital last month. After that regular NGOgram and NGOplast are held here. Open heart surgery department will start very soon. On the 9th May 2007, the then President Dr. Iazuddin Ahmed laid foundation plaque of the hospital. On 17th September 2013, Prime Minister Sk. Hasina inaugurated it.
Officially to complete 6th floor out of 10th, it costs is Tk. 9 Crore 90 Lakh approximately. In 2015 the government allocated one acre land in favour of National Heart Foundation. After allocation within 3 months a tin shed home has been built.
